Blue and Gold Officers, formally known as Naval Academy Information Officers are the field admissions representatives for USNA.  Their  most important task is to interview midshipmen candidates.  This human contact provides the Admissions Committee with information and impressions not otherwise available in the forms and paperwork a candidate submits.  BGOs also attend college fairs and otherwise publicize the Academy and its mission to middle and high school students.

Each volunteer BGO works with a number of assigned schools in his or her geographic area under the general supervision of an Area Coordinator.  USNA Admissions provides BGO training at Annapolis during the summer, and refresher training at sites around the country during the school year.

Tim Naville ’76 is the Area Coordinator for Indiana Blue and Gold Officers.
